Social Life Giant Panda are very social. They have an amazing sense of smell so that they can smell other pandas and meet up with them. A Giant Pandas territory is about 1.9 square miles and in that territory, Giant Pandas meet up and party. If one Giant Panda at the party annoys another, they will get very violent and even bite each other. Don't annoy a panda!
Baby Pandas When a baby panda is born they are completely helpless. The mother usually nurses its newborn for about 12 months. Cubs, baby pandas, do not open their eyes until they are 3 weeks old. They are about the size of a stick of butter and new born pandas are the smallest mammal newborn relative to its mothers size.
